Polishing stainless steel weld

Polishing stainless steel weld

Date 06/05/2019

In fact, the demand for cleaning the stainless steel surface after welding to enhance the aesthetics of finished products is very great. Post-treatment after soldering helps better stainless steel weld is also an important step.

Process of stainless steel weld treament including:

Grinding the surface of the weld or heat spot

The grinding process is performed to remove the underside of the stainless steel weld surface. Particle sizes used for grinding:

Granule size 36: Used to remove welds on stainless steel surfaces with coarse welds produced by welding, Mig welding.
Particle size 60: Used to remove low-revving welds created by Tig welding or to remove the roughness of the weld after grinding with a 36-grain size.
Particle Size 80/120: This particle size is the basis for polishing the mirror with a polishing pad or 3-dimenssion polishing machine. If you want to create mirror surface, you can not ignore the polishing process by this size.
180/240 particle size: This is the appropriate size for the final step of stainless steel striping. When polishing mirror stainless steel, this size is considered an indispensable premise.
-Draft 360/400: This particle size will create a shiny surface like a mirror.

The material used is a cloth comb combined with a polishing cream or polishing powder to create the gloss of the metal surface.

Polishing cloths are available in a variety of styles suitable for each polishing step and product requirements.

Fine medium polish: Used to polish products such as spoons, spoons, knives.
High fineness polishing cloth is used for pharmaceutical equipment, fine decorations.
The process of mirror polishing is envisioned as follows:

K36 → K60 → K120 → K180 → K280 → K320 → K400 → smooth polishing of fine fabrics with neglig → fine polishing of fine fabrics with negatives.

This method treats the shiny surface by 90% compared to polishing with fabric felt. The difference of this method is the use of polishing machines combined with steel balls, chemicals for polishing stainless steel weld instead of chemicals and negatives.

Polishing products with machines have the following advantages: reduce labor costs, increase labor productivity and product with high uniformity as well
